Eigentlich hatte man schon längst mit dem Samsung GALAXY S3 Android 4.2.2 Update gerechnet. Spätestens nachdem der Nachfolger bereits mit Android 4.2.2 erschienen war, vermutete man, dass das GALAXY S3 auch kurze Zeit später das Android 4.2.2 Update bekommen würde. Doch seitdem ist es ruhig um dieses Update geworden. Und jetzt weiß man wahrscheinlich auch, warum. Denn Samsung will dieses Update überspringen und gleich das Samsung GALAXY S3 Update auf Android 4.3 herausbringen. Dieses gilt im übrigen auch für das Samsung GALAXY Note 2.
