Use of "virginity tests" for Indonesia police recruits is a troubling sign for women's rights, says Phelim Kine.
Requiring a female to undergo a virginity test is widely seen as harmful, especially when it is performed on behalf of a government. The practice is seen as sexist, perpetuating the notion that sexual intercourse outside of marriage is acceptable for men, but not for rwomen, and suggesting that women's sexual activity should be subject to public knowledge and criticism, while men's should not.

The reason Beyoncé is so valuable to the feminist movement is because she’s telling you what feminism means, but also showing you what it doesn’t mean.
Beyoncé the feminist is helping the movement by shedding the negative connotation associated with the word and getting people to claim it.

Tech-industry sexism is well-documented, yet the harassment and discrimination lawsuit brought by Whitney Wolfe against the mobile app company Tinder, its parent Match.com and majority shareholder IAC is especially poignant: Tinder is a dating app that owes its success partly to Wolfe's marketing efforts targeting young women."

Del. Mark Cole's legislative aide said he is not planning on introducing the ERA legislation to be heard in the House committee effectively stopping progress on the ERA bill for Virginians and for our nation. This is unacceptable! We need to call and to keep calling Del. Cole and Speaker Howell. Ask them to allow a vote on the ERA bill HJ 12. The Virginia Senate bill passed with bi-partisan support 25-8.
Tell your friends across this nation to call NOW!!!! One man has chosen to stop the path for economic stability for all women in the United States. Remind Delegate Cole and Speaker Howell that the number one issue for women is economic equality and women all across the nation are watching Virginia!

One in five moms is a millennial mom, born between the years of 1978 and 1994. These young women represent the next big wave of family-oriented consumers but 42% of them say that they’re being overlooked by marketers. That means that marketers are missing out on a very influential demographic.
Is it the stereotype of a harried mom juggling home and career the cause of this marketing anomaly?

Young women are more educated, more ambition, a greater part of workforce, yet the same old work-life balance issues drang on.
It's all about the unfriendly corporate ladder, young women would rather pursue on their own in the world.
I don't think women face as much discrimination now, but the ambition to climb to the top is absent, not because of laziness or lack of opportunities but because family really does take attention and time. Raising children is becoming more challenging these days.

While men buy into the productivity of social media use in the workplace more than women, more women actually use those tools for collaboration than their male colleagues.
Women were found to be more likely to use social media in four of the top five implementations of social media: communicating with colleagues, sharing/reviewing documents, communicating with clients and promoting a work-related initiative. Men were more likely to grow their own professional networks, the survey found.
