5 Apps for Making Movies on Mobile Devices - Edutopia | BeBetter | Scoop.it
"Every year at Hollywood award shows, we see fantastic movies celebrated for their rich storytelling and dynamic performances. Your students can become moviemakers, too, thanks to some powerful apps for mobile devices. With these tools, your children can take videos and edit their work to make professional quality movies using iOS devices (iPads and iPhones) and Android tablets."

Those of us who work with students who have print challenges can offer opportunities to tell their stories without the delays of language processing commonly associated with dyslexia. Once students are using the video technology, they can incorporate storyboards and scripts to advance and integrate language skills. --Lou

Excerpt: "....Your students can become moviemakers, too, thanks to some powerful apps for mobile devices. With these tools, your children can take videos and edit their work to make professional quality movies using iOS devices (iPads and iPhones) and Android tablets.

One good thing about this easy-to-use technology is that students can still use important English language arts skills like writing a narrative, planning a sequential story, and including key details when getting ready to make a movie. These apps can enhance the work that you are doing with children in the classroom and give them room to be creative storytellers...."

Maestra Samy: http://www.maestrasamy.blogspot.it/

Suggerisco anche di dare uno sguardo alla raccolta di post in cui Roberto Sconocchini segnala molti altri blog di classe, l'elenco si trova in questa pagina: http://www.robertosconocchini.it/blog-di-classe.html

[Infographic] Deeper Learning: 4 components of the Theory of Action

[Infographic] Deeper Learning: 4 components of the Theory of Action | BeBetter | Scoop.it
“Many school administrators, teachers and parents want the education provided to children to be high quality, rigorous and connected to the world outside the classroom. Teachers are trying to provide these elements in various ways, but a group of schools calling itself the “Deeper Learning Network” has codified some of what its members believe are essential qualities of deep learning (check out how students lead parent teacher conferences in this model). Some of the goals include learning designated content, critical thinking, communication skills, collaborating effectively and connecting learning to real-world experiences. To better understand what schools in the Deeper Learning Network were doing differently, Monica Martinez and Dennis McGrath visited several schools and wrote a book about what they found: “Deeper Learning How Eight Innovative Public Schools Are Transforming Education in the Twenty-First Century.” They have also put together a guide to help interested educators create the conditions necessary to make this model thrive. As the Deeper Learning: 4 Components of the Theory of Action Infographic shows, the model requires a big shift from traditional school and rests on positive school culture and collaborative professional teams of teachers who are committed to the vision of the school.Deeper Learning, as described by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, is the means for teaching students to use their knowledge and skills in a way that prepares them for real life by mastering core academic content, such as language arts, history, math, and science. The students also learn how to think critically, collaborate, communi-cate effectively, direct their own learning, and believe in themselves. The book is intended to inspire parents, educators, and external stakeholders about what is possible and to provide examples of key strategies and common practices used by eight different schools to ensure students develop Deeper Learning (DL) outcomes. The Planning Guide offers practical guidance on the conditions that have to be established for schools to truly change their practices to ensure students leave school with the sophisticated content knowledge and skills needed to be critical thinkers, problem-solvers, collaborators and communicators. It is our hope that the Guide, with its series of exercises and set of resources that demonstrate how schools can create the conditions that are necessary for Deeper Learning, will help you develop a strategic plan to transform your school.”

Those with a fixed mindset believe that intelligence is static, and this can become an obstacle to change in behavior. This in turn makes it difficult for them to be learning agile or to adjust to a rapidly changing and ambiguous world. On the other hand, people with a growth mindset are likely to take every opportunity to pull the resources they need to perform better. They are usually the ones to volunteer information, ask questions and try out new ways of doing things. It cannot be argued that the digital world calls for constant exploration, experimentation and learning. And individuals with a growth mindset are more likely to put in extra effort to learn new things, take charge of their own learning, and possess a resilience that helps them to overcome challenges.Agile ApproachBeing agile is more than just adapting to change. In the age of disruptive tech, we must be able to foresee and change before the need to change arises. Agility in this context encompasses the skill of being able to scan the landscape of one's domain of work and organizational ecosystem, and keeping pace with what is happening at the edges to remain relevant. In the digital era, this would mean being comfortable with technology, seeing change as an opportunity, and accepting the new ways of working without feeling threatened.
