20 Inspiring Logo Sketches

20 Inspiring Logo Sketches | Best of Design Art, Inspirational Ideas for Designers and The Rest of Us | Scoop.it

When creating a new logo it’s not as simple as starting up Photoshop or Illustrator and slapping down an idea you have. A logo takes a lot of refinement and usually you have to go through many different ideas before coming to a final version.

No program comes close to the freedom of paper and pen though. Most logo designers I know put their ideas down on paper first. They’ll come up with tens or hundreds of different ideas – they may have the same look but with different tweaks here and there. It’s a great way to quickly see what works and what doesn’t. Only when they’re happy with the final sketch, will they start creating it in on a computer.

Here are some awesome logo sketches that should definitely be inspiring to any sort of design profession that requires some sort of illustration.

Clever Brand Identity For Photographer, Tells Of The Magic Of Photography - DesignTAXI.com | Best of Design Art, Inspirational Ideas for Designers and The Rest of Us | Scoop.it

To give a glimpse into the world of photographers, Saatchi & Saatchi Ukraine incorporated ‘effects’ reminiscent of the dark room, developer, fixer, and red light to the branding identity of well-known Ukrainian photographer Andrey Lobov

With a specially-created font that looks like random shapes printed on namecards, posters and letters, these documents were paired with filters that were given to its receivers—such as a tagged red film on namecards, a pair of red-filmed glasses to look at posters, and red highlighters for letters.

When the ‘red filters’ were used, actual words were revealed—and readers could make more sense of what was printed on the namecards, posters and letters.
